That would kick S, if you ask me. You would not have to concetrate on the building aspect so much, but on kicking believer's sorry S. Think about it, SMAC in real-time. How about it Firaxis?

Building is the fun part of the game - why mess with it by transferring it into RTS? look at all the other game franchises ruined in that manner. (Outpost comes to mind).
Simply put, SMAC is the kind of game that must be built and must remain TBS.

Uhhh... Q, Outpost never HAD a franchise! The first one was so damn awful! It's probably the worst game I've ever played!

Nooooo... there are plenty of RTS games out there... C&C clones by the million... SMAC keeps alive the sadly under-supported TBS genre and I'd hate to see that change.

hmmmm that's a great idea! lets have a civilization game in real time...i can see the adds already
maybe we could show a picture of a large empire on page with lots of buildings and tell about how good everything is going
then on the next page have an enemy army storming your civ...and the caption could read something like if only we had an army
it could be based from ancient times to right before roman times and then we could do a roman expansion pack. then for the sequal we do it from the dark ages to the renassaince(sp?) hmmm all we need now is a good name
Age of Civilizations? how does that sound?

the we could have the sequal
AoC2:Age of Emperors
hmmmm only thing is we'd need a distributor, some big company so everyone could have access to it. too bad microsoft wouldn't ever go for an idea like this...
