The story is getting so intricate and funny, with different writers jumping in, that I posted this topic for side comments to be put here, so as not to interrupt the story flow.

I'm working on my own installment to hopefully fit in after Nell's most recent.

It is a good one but i thought that Smac's last installment mostly about trippin got a little away from good humor to bad , He slipped a bit and got a little to vulgar and personal against trip I thought. Maybe he can tone that down a bit and get back on track where he was at before....otherwise it is excellent stuff....including Nells stuff which has really brought it around

Oops...sorry about that! I guess I got a little carried away. No offense to T. Daily there. I'll try to keep the tone a little more level and not quite so vulgar. Hey, every writer has to have a critic to keep him in line. Thanks for the criticism. I am working on one with you now Old_Warrior...don't worry, I'm not going that far with you like I did with T.D.

I think I just took the Tripp storyline to it's logical conclusion.

For the record I DID NOT look at his thing.

Right on Kitty! hehehe

My storyline, which I'm still working on, will bring you and Rimmer and a couple of other hapless vets into the middle of this.

I thought yours was great, and will try to tie together whatever is going on by the time I can post my part.

As far as other stories go....I was reading The Smac Fiction forum a while ago and an interesting thread called A Lurker Comes Forth was in it. Done by a poster called Hydro (I think) ...now that was some excellent writing. There really are a lot of good writers on these forums...If anyone needs a manager to get a sci-fi book deal done let me know. I would certainly like to ride your coattails to glory. (Slipping in the easy way),HEHE....

OK, OldWarrior, you a part of fiction now. I think you'll like this one much better. Much lighter that the other's I've made, but still humorous I think.

HelloKitty mad a GREAT followup to the T. Daily segment I did (The Sid Meier rape droids! LMAO! I love it!) Quickly read the story you talked about in the SMAC Fiction group. VERY good stuff. I hope some publishers are hanging around...we've got stuff for everything: MAD magazine, STARLOG, CINESCAPE, etc. BTW, OldWarrior, feel free to ride my coattails (in the highly inlikely event I'll be published).

There aren't enough people writing in the SMAC fiction forum, you lot should all come in and write some stuff. There's a lot of untapped potential in these forums waiting to explode out.

Unfortunatly different people troll that forum. Here we all get involved and get to make fun of each other. It's a matter of visability. Teenage boys writing about thier fabulous exploits in narrative scares me.

I agree with Kitty... I never was much good at creative writing anyway, and it's only because I've been on this forum long enough to get to know some of the most "visible" posters that I could think of anything to write at all, or have the nerve to post it... I'm not up to the standard on the SMAC fiction forum... the stories in here are about the personalities on the forum, and this is the only forum where I "know" anybody... so errr there ya go.

MtG and Kitty: Bravo!! {round of applause}

SMACjunkie: {another round of applause}

I can't match you guys' humour... but I just love the way this thread is going, it's hilarious! I'll be content to be the "straight man" to you genuine comedians...

Nell... logging on during expensive UK daytime rate, just to read the next instalments! hehe

Nell, don't underrate yourself - you gave me a ton of things to work with, and then Kitty posted before I did, so I tried to tie the two sections together a bit. I would have been stuck if it hadn't been for your ObiWan #16, and the "MtG processor" line. That was hilarious and gave me a great starting point to work from.

By all means, please keep contributing to the story. I have to wonder how it will all end, since non of us is coordinating with the other, but just playing off the story line so far.

I think any of us could write on a par with the SMAC fiction forum, but this is far more fun, since we get to play with each other and our forum personalities.

Kitty and Nell: Well that's fair enough. It's exactly how I felt at first. You are on the slippery slope though. Maybe one day you'll write a small short story and post it and people will like it and then..... who knows.

The old chronicles were a bit like this. They kind of died though, if you look back in SMAC fiction to the Chronicles of PreUnity it might be called CPUB the beginning there were a lot of people contributing to something in the same vein as this. When the forums crashed and we got a new SMAC Fiction forum people seemed to get scared of it again. MtG is right though, any of you could write up to the standard of SMAC fiction, after all if I can do it....

Sorry for interrupting this thread. Back to the comments.

Just got a few minutes to post this (15 minute break). Hey, Nell, I like your stuff. It really adds some atmosphere to the story. You're like the 'straight-woman' to the 'wacky sidekick' thing. Don't be so modest...I think you're writing is very creative and it doesn't have to be 'bathroom humor' (like a lot of mine is) to be effective. Please, MORE, MORE! (I mean..ah..please continue with your highly polished writing techniques).

Hey, Michael...good stuff! Really like how you tied all of our stuff together. Well Done!

HelloKitty: T. Daily lives again! LOL! Great stuff!...I'm glad he is, really. Like the 'phoenix rising from the ashes to take revenge' thing. Masterful...

BTW, Nell...do you actually have stiletto heels?

OK, guys back to work. Have fun!

Thank you... I was in two minds as to whether to add to the thread or not... glad I did now, though

"By all means, please keep contributing to the story."

Oh OK then...

"I have to wonder how it will all end, since none of us is coordinating with the other, but just playing off the story line so far."

That's the point, though, and I think that's why it works: everyone adds their own input without reference to the others, so the whole thing stays fresh and original Too many collaborative works are obviously compromised by the co-authors' need to agree while writing... witness how inferior and contrived Arthur C. Clarke's collaborative works are when compared with his solo novels, IMHO.

"this is far more fun, since we get to play with each other and our forum personalities."

Exactly.

MikeH:
Well maybe one day I will pluck up the courage... but not yet, not yet... {scared of all those imaginative types}

SMACjunkie:
Well thank you kindly... I haven't got your knack for comedy, so I'll stick to what I can do best... well, until inspiration deserts me, that is...

It comes to something when I'm looking forward more to reading the latest instalment(s) than to playing my latest PBEM turns...

And you guys (all of you) are streets ahead of me in the creative writing stakes... sigh

Write you out? How could I write out the ultimate force of evil, the Master of Puppets, the Dark Side personified in a CPU?!? Read it again:

PS: Aredhran... well, the story had gone far enough, probably too far, without you, don't you think? And JAMiAM... if you weren't such a master of forum disguise, you'd have been in there too... how do you fancy life as a Jedi candidate? Just joking, just joking... maybe...

Nell - you didn't realize that when you created that hologram of yourself, that the MtG chip was really busy doing other things - you're 10,000 XXX streaming channels of Ewan and your censored .JPGs only tie up a mere 0.0000001% of the MtG processing capability.

While you thought you were diverting it, is was playing along with you, since in it's omniscience it knew that Aredhran would take the real you out of circulation. Using it's alien self-wiring nanotechnology, the MtG chip has wired its circuitry all through the forums into a huge, alien-sentienat global neural net - and the new control center is located in: The N.E.L.L. hologram!!!! You are all doomed! (installment to come late tonight, pacific time) But Tripp shall be the avenging angel who shall feed my thirst for conflict with his new Ragin' Cajun 50 barrel flamethrower.

I betting HelloKitty will rescue her before Red Ranger H can further work his wiles on her. And eventually, that lack of Obi-won-ness will do him in. You can't keep a good Borg Queen down for too long. Well, not without some sort of lung enhancement.

Well that's three nights now when I've sat down, read the story thread, and been so totally overwhelmed by all the different (and hilarious) ideas in it that I can't get my head together to post anything on it... mind you, seeing as the hapless RQ seems to have been irretrievably hijacked, I'm not quite sure what I could possibly add!

Hmmm... for a power-crazed lunatic with ambitions to rule the world, I'm making a pretty poor show of it so far!!

Nell... wondering where she's getting taken... and whether she has any say in the matter? hehe

PS: Darkstar... actually, you're right... the Borg Queen doesn't give up that easily...

The story will live on. If you don't like something just write your way out of it. Tripp got away from Rimmer and is happily in drugged out bliss.

PS Nell if my time is right what the hell are you posting at 3 AM on a Thursday night for?

Hello Kitty,

Everyone here knows that Nell doesn't sleep. Else, when would she find the time to SMAC and prowl the forums?

Wonderful integration with your last post. I've got big plans for you, girlfriend. You've got such character! It's going to be fun, I promise. Penthouse, Bust and decapitated Barbies, LOL. For me, it's the Shoe-Dangling and Dumpster-Diving Bimbo Barbies on my monitor and Leg Show.

Hey hey Kitty...
Sleep? Gave it up a long time ago... my faithful acolytes do my sleeping for me, and of course I have a chatbot that writes my forum posts for me, so there is little left for me to do apart from plot the destruction of the universe... and watch the Teletubbies, of course, who are the Ultimate Incarnation of the Dark Side

Nell,

8am is late, even for you. Get your rest, my Rave Queen, while you can. You'll be needing it!

Yes, a good foot rub should never be as hurried as my limited time on the keyboard made it seem.

I'm afraid enlightenment does not come until much later. First there's the Jedi neck and scalp massage. Then the Jedi shoulder rolling and arm loosening, followed by a viscous hand and finger massage, then...

Yes, some things should not be rushed.

And for Gawd's sake, have mercy... don't I have enough trouble focusing my attention, without thoughts of Jedi massages creeping into my already demented imagination?

Hello Kitty,

I know you're half Japanese. I recall seeing that in one of your previous postings. So, I didn't expect you to really have green eyes, since due to the genetic factors governing eye color it is, probabalistically, virtually impossible.

My childhood best friend and his sister are half Japanese, as well. Your "real-life" initials wouldn't happen to be F.L., would they? Don't feel obliged to answer. After all, I am a guy. And, we all know what guys are, don't we? That's it... you can say it... Gross. There, I knew you could.

Virtually impossible or not, one of the most gorgeous guys I ever knew was a Rastafarian, back in Bristol (oooh, years ago)... about 6foot4 he was, great body, dreadlocks down to his waist, skin like polished ebony... and the most spectacular crystal blue eyes. Wow. And this was in the days before coloured contacts, so those eyes were for real.

He talked the talk
And he walked the walk

And man, he was one cool dude!

Nell... wishing that Mother Nature favoured black hair with blue/green eyes... hey ho

JAMstillAM posted 07-02-99 10:16 PM ET     Click Here to See the Profile for JAMstillAM  Click Here to Email JAMstillAM
Nell,

Yes, but the difference there is that there have been many generations of cross racial breeding going on in the Caribbean. Plenty of opportunities for light eyed genes to become mixed in with the various dark skinned peoples.

Japan, on the other hand, has until very recently been very insulated from the "light-eyed world" and thus has had much less genetic diversity introduced.

Kitty has mentioned that her mother was Japanese and that she was half-Japanese. I made the, not unreasonable, assumption that her mother was "full-blooded" Japanese. Light-eyes are a recessive trait. Therefore, unless by some miracle of chance (or genetic mutation) her mother had recessive light eyed genes, there is 0% probability of having light eyes in the first generation of interbreeding (Kitty's).

Kitty, I really apologize for making this seem so impersonal. I'm sure your brown eyes are beautiful. And, if you're working on your PhD, then your skin has grown thick enough that my gnat bites do not bother you!

Meeeeow!

Yeah, don't you wish. For your information, I just got back yesterday from a last minute decision that I and my girlfriend made to go to Germantown, Tenn. and stay with my Aunt and Uncle for the July 4th weekend. We had great fun, thank you.

Just to have a chance to get the 100 mark on this thread: About your spelling insult, I always speed write, never spell check(well almost never), and I'm from Sweden. We speak Swedish here, you know, another language. I'm sure you've heard of them - other languages.

Do you really demand I should know English as well as you? Really? I guess you don't have brains after all... I usually say that when a person attack your spelling they don't really have much useful at all to come up with.
