So what songs would you put on it - but only pick one.

I'd say Fated by Matthew Good Band

1 - Fate by Matthew Good Band
2 - Superman's Dead by Our Lady Peace
3 - Used to be Alright by I Mother Earth

Whether or not The Wall has anything to do with Newbie Terrorists... can I just say that you have superb taste... one of the best albums ever made, containing my all-time favourite PF track... Comfortably Numb

{sings}
"When I was a child, I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look, but it was gone;
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone"

Although it would be a hard contest between that and "On The Turning Away" from A Momentary Lapse Of Reason...

Nell... who saw PF at Earl's Court and wished she'd bought a ticket to see them again the next night! Awesome.

Oh yeah... for the Newbie Terrorists... how about Anarchy in the UK, by the immortal Sex Pistols?

"...I know what I want and I know how to get it
I wanna destroy passers-by
Coz I wanna be
An-ar-chy"

Nell...Pink Floyd is my alltime favorite band going back to an album they did called umagumma. It was before the big 4 streych of albums they did starting in 71 with Dark Side of the Moon....73 Wish You Were Here .....75 Animals( which I saw them perform in Madison Square Garden...They had a giant pig float out over the audience while they were doing the song Pigs.) And last in 77 The Wall. hat was their decade for sure. And Comfortably Numb is my wife and my favorite also.Excellent taste Young lady

Hey who cares about going off-topic when it's a chance to talk about PF??
DSOTM has to be one of the 10 greatest albums ever made by anyone... and I have Ummagumma too! Amongst others...
Well they had the inflatable pigs at Earl's Court too... actually that was the concert that was recorded for tour video... I was there, six rows back from the front! And they played almost the whole of DSOTM in the second half... it was incredible
Nell... shine on, you crazy diamond...

I was in second row center at the garden. Best concert I ever went to and I have seen a few. They played the whole animals album and about half of wish you were here.
Watch out for that axe eugene.

"Hello.
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone at home?

Come on, now,
I hear your feeling down.
Well I can easy your pain,
And get you on your feet again.

Relax.
Just a little pin prick.
There'll be no more 'Agggghhhhhh',
But you may feel a little sick..."

Also my favorite track ever. Though I prefer the slightly redone Roger Waters version, from Live in Berlin 1990. Amazing guitars, and an oddly appropriate Van Morrison cameo.

If you haven't heard it yet, Nell, I suggest you try and find a copy.

Oh, and, 'New Breed' by Fear Factory would be perfect for the Newbie Terrorists.

Shining...I have The Wall Live in Berlin by Roger Waters on cassette too. Anything by Floyd or their solo adventures are in my possesion. I believe Cyndi Lauper also did some voice on that album if I can remember off the top of my head.

Yup. C L, Bryan Adams, Marianna Faithful, Jerry Hall, Van Morrison, and a bunch of others I can't remember. Plus a LOT of musicians. I think Snowy White makes a repeat performance, too... mmmmm.

Ah. Using the internet for its primary function - worshipping Pink Floyd.

Hand: ROFL! Yeah!

Though you can't build walls in SMAC - so it would have to be 'Perimeter defense' for all the wall stuff.

'Sitting in the bunker,
here behind my (perimeter defense).
Oohh Oohh Oohh
Waiting for the (mind)worms to come.'

Hithero unknown inspiration for SMAC? I think so...

A few "instrumental" inspirations...

- The "Midnight Express" main theme (can't remember the composer)

- The "Dune" main theme (Toto)

- "Evacuation" from the Killing Fields soundtrack (Mike Oldfield)

- For a comic note, the original Batman song (when SMACMAN appears )

OW, Shining, and Nell: Yeah the wall was pretty good. I'd still have to say that Matthew Good Band is my favorite Band though.

I must change my vote on number 3.

It should be Sunday by I Mother Earth. Perfect for any scene involving me.

More instrumental tunes: "1492, conquest of paradise" (Vangelis)

This one is actually linked to Aredhran himself, since the soundtrack was used as background music when I was playing the original AD&D campaign (for those who don't know, my nick is actually my favorite RPG characer's name)

By the way, goto www.traxinspace.com and get the songs by an artist called Heatseeker, whoa!

Actually, wouldn't the 'Ghost of Tom Jones' (title?) by Rage be a better choice?

And who the hell suggested 'Children'? Although, with that and the Backstreet (yeah right) boys and the Spice girls, I think it probably works for the middle Echelons of the Newbie Menace.

I will kill the backstreet boys, and eat their bones. Seriously though, the backstreet boys, c'mon, I could come up with better songs when I pass out from drinking too much.

Anyways, I think Naveed, by Our Lady Peace, would be good for any scene where one of the ggod guys gets killed.

Whilst we're talking about soundtracks....

I've been listening to a lot of Hip Hop lately. Don't laugh! Anyway I saw "NWA's Greatest Hits" in the HMV sale the other day. I had to buy it just for the novelty of seeing something called "NWA's Greatest Hits". Is that ironic? I'm not sure. It's good. Makes me want to swear and shoot people and treat women badly.... oh no, wait, it doesn't.

Listening crowd: You are rambling MikeH, your point being.

Oh yeah, sorry. Kool Keith (don't know why I started with Kool Kieth) has apparently been recommitted to a mental institution so he's not going to be playing any UK gigs this year. Ahhhhhhh. Just because he was found trying to stare out a photograph of himself. Last time he tried to do a UK tour they wouldn't let him in the country, just 'cause he's insane and they said he wasn't a musician. Whilst I would really like to see Kool Keith I am scared of his insanity. In a recent interview when asked to describe himself in three words he chose: "Wicked, Wiley and Advanced" In my book anyone who describes themselves as advanced is a mental collossus not a madman. Those of you unfamiliar with his work may have heard him on the Prodigy's Diesel Power.

I submit the whole of his Dr. Octagon album to the soundtrack as tribute. It has one track (can't remember the name unfortunately) where he raps passages from scientific papers at high speed. The best technical rapping I've ever heard.

Note: All of the information in this post is dubious at best from an extremely unreliable source, not that anyone cares.

Nell: you are the second person to recommend Reakivate 9 to me in 2 days, I guess that means I have to buy it.

Mike: Am I still drunk 12 hours after I stopped drinking?
Mike: There's a fair chance judging by that last post.

While speaking about a momentary lapse of reason...

The forum newbies don't negotiate
The forum newbies won't capitulate,
They will take and you will give,
And you must die so that they may live
You can knock at any door,
But wherever you go, you know they've been there before
Well winners can lose and things can get strained
But whatever you change, you know the newbies remain.

With my apologies to this great band

Reactivate 10 is actually the best of the lot, but from 9 onwards they got really good. And 9 has the classic track Outside World by Sunbeam, with a couple of really nice samples from the Manga film "Akira".

2. Main Titles from Blade Runner - Vangelis
3. Alien Pets - Prana (Matsuri Compilation)

TD(hope u can hear(read) this: Ya know the music man! My choice: Freedom - RATM

To all PF lovers: I think PF are gods. But lately, listening to them gives me nothing more then a simple paranoya. I cannot listen to The Wall for more then 30mins.

Nell: Children might not be one of the best, but try listening more to RM, he has much to say in 23am.

And a Special for Nell(The Rave Queen): F-u-c-k up Your Earz - Y.O.M.C. ( i know it's a oldie...but so are you, right?)
