I got 9 scenarios.
I am playing them and recording the scores now.
None of you big talkers can beat me.

I lay out the conditions of victory - win in the lowest year with the AC score as a tiebreaker.
Beat me !!

If you dont trust me - send me a Scenario and what must be done to win.

Top scores will be posted on my URL

oh - forgot to say
most games are only 20 turns - so you got no excuse to not try to beat me !!

A scenario that can be played out in 20 turns is like making a big deal out of a single hand of poker, or modifying a baseball game to one inning.

When you're ready to wean off of mommy's milk and try your first bites of solid food (Gerber first foods peas and carrots might be pleasing to your limited palette, but don't come here bawling to us to change your smelly didies), why don't you try playing a real game or a real scenario and proving what you can do.

Who knows, if and when you reach manhood, you might even try to move up to small map and talent level. Now be a good boy and go back to nursing on mommy.

Ace... I think you should have put the challenge to everyone in a little bit less of a condescending tone. Especially the way you single out Darkstar. That is just looking to not get you what you want.

Sorry OldWarrior - just trying to drum up some interest

Reading Darkstar's posts - I bet he will like the attention :-)

Didnt mean to insult him.

MTG

The short Scenarios are 20 turns - one is even less

There are longer ones too and i will be adding others.

I think this is better than having to slosh through the first 50 or so years everytime.

Lemme know what you think.

Thanks.

PS - sorry about the tone of the topic - just trying to get some attention.

Nothing personal ace - it's actually a little amusing. When everyone is completely civil all the time, it gets boring. I'll check out your scenarios when I have a chance (I've got 16-18 hour workdays and 40 or so PBEM's going), but a short scenario you've designed is not a fair test, unless the map is revealed to everyone - the scenario designer has the advantage of foreknowledge.

I only gently warmed you up a bit (I had not yet begun to flame ) because I assumed you were one of the regulars using a different handle to play with us. (Hey tfs and trip - notice I said regulars, and not the "V" word )

Hey aceplayer, I just finished your first, shortest scenario. Pity, but I had to eliminate Yang and Santiago a turn before the end of your scenario. I actually think it's possible (for me) to improve on my score by not conquering them, and just doing a population build up, but anyway I ought to get some extra credit for going from militarily unprepared to eliminating the only two rival factions in twelve turns. What was that, 20 colonies they had? All under new ownership, except for a couple I demolished.

That's why you've got to be careful who you challenge - some of us here are fairly decent players. It may be up to a month or so, but I'll send you some one and two player scenarios to add to your site.

Now let's see if you can top MY score.

Old high score was 1173, mine was 1332, guess you'll have to work on beating that one.

Can't resist razzing you, but good work on putting up the site.

Just finished Lal_2286 with 1343 points ! This 11 points difference to Michael the Great was hard work.
Thanks to aceplayer for the page. Its fun!

Oh, man, now I've got to go back and try to up the ante... I was goint to try to hit aceplayer's other scenarios this weekend.

Ares - are you in for Jimmytrick's SMACmaster challenge?

ARES 7:

You have qualified for the PBEM game "SMACMASTERS #1" if you submit your game for verification and are interested. Other players are MtG, myself, Nell_Smith (using rave queen exemption), Aceplayer (jr. Smacmaster). Nell has vowed to beat MtG's score as well.

Hi folks,
first, I thought, the score will be maxed out at about 1360. But my tactics were not really optimized (Im still learning!), so a score of 1400 or even a little more may be possible. Good luck for those who try (I hope, many will do!).

Although its called a very easy scenario, I like the design. Smart one!
Aceplayer, you just have to improve your own score a little.

About PBEM, ( is this an eMail-MP? Sorry, Im newbee on that): Im afraid not to have the time as regularily as it would be necessary for that. And for quick-MPs, Im too much a micromanagement-lover.

Have a good SMACing-time

"Nell has vowed to beat MtG's score as well"
?!?!?!? errrr... not any time this week!
To be honest, I don't like half-played scenarios, and I have little enough time for SMAC as it is, so I don't think I'll have time to try and improve on my rather wonderful score of 1209 for the Lal_2286 scenario... but at least I've played the thing and "officially" qualified, even if only by 36 points!
NB: No disrespect to the scenario design... it's very good... I just don't like half-played games... can't get my head round a game I haven't played from the start... I guess that's the incorrigible builder in me talking!
Nell... hiding from the mighty 1300+ crew!

Just sent my score for Lal_2286 in to aceplayer: 1354. This beats ARES 7 by 11 points, the same amount by which he beat MtG.

It seems like I can only build around three SPs. But there is still another one that I could conquer to bring my score up another 25. Maybe a few more population could be grown as well.

Other than that, I am not sure how one could do better.

I posted this in Aceplayer's other thread, but just to be sure y'all don't miss it. :

Ace, Nell, Lt. Col JT, tfs, Ares, et al - A new standard has been set for the Lal2286 scenario.

This time I paid attention to what I was doing.

Sit down and grab yerself a hanky.

Are ya sittin down?

Might want to grab a stiff shot of fine Kentucky bourbon to ease the pain, for those who have struggled to beat my first score.

Are ya ready?

1540 points. One Five Four Zero

Yep, you heard right.

Save's on the way to Mr. Aceplayer.

MtG:

Learned a few things from my save, eh, Michael. Doubtless you have implemented a few of my economic tricks to add to your conqueror's rush.

Very immpressive.
