My suggestion to the new Firaxis webmaster is to setup something along the lines of the Total Annihilation Metagame being run on the Cavedog site at the moment. Basically, it would involve standarised online SMAC scenarios between players with a faction loyalty, probably over control of planet (envision a commander structure, an interactive storyline, and a REALLY big map of planet.)
Suggestions:
* Games around an hour or so long. Play on a standard map with extremely heavily penalised technology (labs energy production set to 1000th or 10000th of normal - so a player discovering a new technology while playing is a major achievement).

i am completely up for it!
that way the faction head quarters could really serve a purpose
lso another thought...who won SMAC according to the quotes that come with techs secret projects facilities and such...i guess it was a transendence victory
i wonder who was eliminated irst and so on...
almost an idea
