I was somewhat surprised to see that no one else has had this problem, but every time I use a singularity reactor in any type of unit I only get 30 hit points...which is obiously not the 40 I am supposed to. Anyone know why?

Actually, *many* people have noticed this. That's a "feature", not a bug... (Introduced in V3 if I'm not mistaken). What's worse is that the same logic is applied to the hit points in psi combat, i.e. your unit will only have 7.5 instead of 10 when fighting Mindworms. Aredhran

By the way, before someone starts screaming... This problem has already been submitted to Firaxis, as part of the list of things to fix in Patch 4, as compiled by Yin.Aredhran

No, it wasn't introduced with version 3. It was always there. |

It's not a bug, its supposed to be that way, always has always will. Now if you want to look through the text files, i'm sure you can find some way to "fix" it. In Psi Combat the number of hits is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is the % of damage the unit had going into the combat. A fission reactor unit will take 1 or 3 damage for ever round it loses, while a Quantum reactor unit will lose 3 or 9 in a similar round of Psi combat. The manual lists the singualrity reactor's hut points as "variable" not "40."The Singularity PB still has a larger blast radius and Singularity units are still cheaper and better.
