Someone brought this up a while ago, but it just happened to me. I was playing and went for supreme leader. I got the 75% but Miriam voted against me. I still won. I didn't have to go kill her, I just won. What's up with this? Sometimes this happens, and other times I have to go kill them. Anyone else have this problem?

There's a difference between being voted against being Supreme Leader and being against the Concil's decision. In your first case, Miriam voted against but she accepted the Council's decision so you won. In the other case, you were voted in but the faction you had to kill chose to not accept the Council's decision. |

I did post about this before, though I'm still not sure if it's a bug or not. eNo is correct as to when you have and have not to fight the rebellious faction. The problem I had was that after I fought Spartans, who did not accept the council decision, nothing really happened. All the other factions were in pact with me, but the game just kept playing: no final score, no messages "This game is like... over", nothing. Moreover, the option "Unite behind me as Supreme Leader" disappeared from the Council agenda. I ended up eliminating all my "pact brothers" , and then was pronounced a winner by conquer. |

It depends on your reputation - if you've gassed the spartans, or repeatedly broken treaties with them, they'll probably hate you enough to fight you. If, on the other hand, you've been gentle and honest, they may vote against you, but they'll still bow to what the majority of people on AC think. |

Well, I did terrorize Spartans and actually was at war with them even before vote, but the problem was that after I eliminated them (after vote) I still did not get the Supreme Leader victory |

Dim Cat - Don't feel bad. That is a bug that has bitten even the TI. The game does not fo Diplomatic Victory check AFTER you wipe out the dissenters. You either have to wait for 20 years to roll by and have Supreme Commander option pop back up (even though you are ALREADY the Supreme Commander) or you wage war on the littlest of your Pact allies. When they SURRENDER again, the game correctly checks to see if everyone acknowledged you and then declares Diplomatic Victory. Its a small but irritating bug. I have never seen the Vote For Supreme Commander pop back up, but it should. Save the game, and play out 20 turns of peace, checking to see if you can raise the vote. If you can't, well, then you will have to go to war and force a surrender to gain diplomatic victory. Strange but true... -Darkstar |
