ok if you get the hunter seeker algorithm and deploy your normal troops in pact brothers bases what happens when enemy probe teams come around. can they still do probe team actions against that base? if they can that means they can subvert that base, well if they subvert the base is your unit subvert or what? can i put a HSA protected unit in my pact brothers base and protect them from probe team actions? does anyone know? answers would be much appreciated

My bets would be on enemy probes would be able to destroy buildings, incite drone activity, steal tech, even assassinate researchers, but not take over the city. But then again, stuff does not always make sense...

When I had Morgan as a submissive pact brother, University came in and took over one of his cities with a probe team and I had the Hunter-Seeker Algorithm. I don't think the benefits of any SP apply to pact brethern do they?

I have had a submissive pact brother's city mind controlled by an enemy while I had troops in it. IIRC, my troops got kicked out when the city changed sides.

The only way to protect a pact-mate from probe team actions is to station probe teams in their cities.

Exactly, Darkstar, if there's a probe in a base, no matter whose side is the probe, the probin' probe must engage probin' combat with the in-base probe.
A probe can bring on any kind of probing to a base only if there are no probes already in it.

The effect of HSA with protected bases is that probes just die attempting probing. The effect with protected units is that they can't be subverted, but I can't recall what happens to the attempting probe (nothing?).

I didn't think about HSA-protected probes: after all they don't have to sustain probin', they engage probe combat instead...

MoSe,

They die too. Any probe teams messing about with your bases or units gets exterminated.

basically i was asking if i put one of my HSA protected units in a pact brothers base does it render my pact brothers base immune to probes. for example the probe is destroyed by my unit.
the reason why i ask this question is that because on multiplayer you cannot put a probe team in a pact brothers base, i lost four probe teams trying to protect my pact brother from enemy probe attacks. this a bug i guess (i would really hate if it was an intened feature!) there are more multiplayer bugs i encountered too, like for instance you can't trade bases in multiplayer, you can't co-ordinate attacks with the computer players, and you can't ask a computer player to call off a vendetta against a friend

thanks
