I tried playing Hive yesterday. Without any help from me, FOUR of the factions got wiped out:
Morgan built two(!) cities and got wiped by the Spartans.
UoP built about six cities. Didn't build any troops. Got wiped off Planet by me (hey, he insulted me!)
Gaians built about five cities and the Weather Paradigm. Got wiped out by the Believers.
Then the Spartans and the Belivers got into a big pissy contest which ended with the Belivers getting wiped out.
So, now, about 80 turns into the game, it's me, Corazon, and Lal. ARRRRGH!

Evk, I think you have been SMACking too much. If you wiped out UoP, then you did help them get eliminated. That leaves 3 that AI action got to.
Its not unusual in my Hive games for the AI to wipe out Morgan, Lal, and one of the three gals before I can wipe them out. I think the AI would rather tangle with someone easier to take over in the beginning. Those Perimeter Defences are a BIG bonus...

Oops. Um, good point. Allright, mabye I need a little more sleep.
It is kind of disorentating though, becuase now I'm able to win an economic victory! Never done that before.

Actually, it cost me 1000 credits. Exactly 1000. Isn't that freaky? I was kind of disappointed too (since it has exactly the same text as Diplomatic excpet "Diplomatic" is changed to "Economic")
