I have been really impressed with the quality of the SMAC fan web sites on the internet. But there are two that have stood out to be the best. Both have an incredible amount of information, strategies, and downloads. But which one of these two is the BEST????

Definitely Apolyton. The administrators there (MarkG and DanQ) are always updating the site. I get a real sense of quality and committment. Plus, it looks really good and they gave a good review of my map.

Well, I'd say they are both quite good visually.
But, I'll echo Sparky and say that Apolyton's updates are more frequent and they seem to be paying attention to SMAC news more closely.
OTOH, sidgames is focusing on chats with the Firaxis team. And they are taking the lead there.
Bottom line, I regularly visit both. I regularly check the forums (both SMAC and CTP) on Apolyton, but I hardly ever check the forums on sidgames.
Plus, I am a bit biased. In the SMAC news section, DanQ posted a link to my 4.0 Patch "rant" thread in the Troubleshooting forum.
My fifteen seconds of fame at last! <sigh> DanQ, the check is in the mail.

I'm going to say Apolyton, because the other site never updates that much. What is the purpose of having a tip of the day and not updating it in 2 or 3 months?

You know, I never did give my opinion. . .but to no surprise I would have to agree that Apolyton does seem to have the better site. But, "sidgames.com" is a very close second.
