How do I modify the effects of the social settings? I tried to modify the effects of economy in the alpha.txt file, and this has no effect on the game. Is there any way to do it?

You sure smeagol... I have edited them once before, and it had worked. Maybe you need to start a new game for it to work.Trippin Daily |

Yeah, I did start a new game. Have you ever modified the economy settings? Maybe you just can't do this, or something. I tried entering in a number of different things, but none seemed to work. |

trippin-- I didn't modify the effects of the SE choices. I tried to modify the effects of economy (+1 = +1 energy/base, etc)-- that stuff. That isn't in caps to begin with. I even tried just changing the numbers without changing the wording for them, and it still has no effect on the game (and I am starting a new game). I'm surprised that this can't be modified-- any ideas? |

Oh, that part. Now I feel stupid. You can't change those. That is just to let you know what the effects are.Trippin Daily |

Why wouldn't they allow you to change those? Considering you can alter just about any aspect of this game, to exclude that option for something that is this critical to gameplay is pretty careless. Oh well. |

I also looked for something like that to change in alpha.txt. Specifically, I wanted to change the effects of rivers to add a +1 nutrient. I can't find that, however, |
