Hello gang!

I was wondering why I have to build sensors to spot those nasty things moving toward my bases. Shouldn't you be able to build a facility to act as a sensor probe? Call it a Sensor Ring or something. Actually, I think the Perimeter Defense SHOULD have that built in, but that is a game play issue.

While I can understand wanting outlying sensors to give you longer to prepare for invasion or attack by mindworms or such, it seems that a Base should have full sensor capability and bonuses at least after the advent of Air Power, or Deep Radar (one or the other).

So why doesn't it? I realize that the bases "see" everything that isn't hiddin in two squares, but that isn't the sensor visibilty... So, give us a way to do so Firaxis! Yeah!

How is the bases ability to see everything within two squares, differant from the sensors ability to see everythin within two squares? Don't sensors just extend the range of vision from a base or wherever?

I think that sensors are forced outside of bases to allow the attackers to destroy them as a preliminary action to attacking a base protected by it. Otherwise, it just makes bases that much tougher to crack (another +25% defense). I can see adding the sensor fungus vision to perimeter defense, however.

Someone pointed out that it is possible to have a sensor in a base if you build the sensor in the base square before you build the base.

Goob: Sensors can see units in fungus.
