Has anybody run the game under NT4 or tried Windows 2000 (beta) yet? It will run under NT4 but sound is not very good. Am testing under W2000 as the DirectX support is better, so far it has installed but game shuts down almost immeadiately with no obvious errors. I do not want to run in Windows 98 unless forced to.

I just tried to run SMAC on my NT box at home and it crashed instantly...
ANything to do with what servicepack (5) or directX issues ?

I am now at NT4 SP5, but have yet to run the game. I have Win 98 now on yet another disc and that is fine. There is a second release of Win 2000 Beta 3 due soon which I will test. The DXDIAG said that Win 2000 is currently at DirectX 5 ??
