I downloaded and installed SMAC v4. I wanted to check out the new Manifold Nexus and Borehole modifications. I cannot find them on the map. What am I doing wrong?

If you speak of the 'Map of Planet' I'm fairly sure you won't find them. They are placed on random maps, but I do not believe the 'Planet' maps were altered.

Mongoose, you are right: Manifold Nexus and Boreholes Cluster are available only at random maps. It's strange to me that Firaxis never add them to the map of Planet.
I red a thread some time ago about using the editor to modify by hand a copy of the map of Planet, growing up a debate about the more balanced positioning of that Special area.
On the other hand, some players think that Manifold and the Cluster are of little interest, not really adding some strategical improvement to the game (I'm uncertain about this opinion, but I like to tell to Jester, so he can better check by himself).
