Topic: Would someone please explain why the enemy needlejets never need to refuel?

posted 08-06-99 02:15 PM ET I have v 4.0 and I am in my second game. This is one of the most interesting games that I have yet played in SMAC. A 5 way well balanced shootout. When lo and behold the Hive sends a force of about 10 or more needlejets with infinite hovering ability over my continent bombing the heck out of my hapless citizens.
I thought this was supposed to be fixed in V 4.0. These jets just hover outside my cities and pick off as many units as they like without ever having to retreat for fuel. This is maddening and it is a bug. Please fix this as soon as possible. This kind of bug shouldn't have even been in the original release.

Uh ... thanks for strengthening the community here at OWO by posting this bug.
But it really is unreasonable to expect a bug free game isn't it?
I mean ... especially after three patches and all.

Note: this is my 2nd game under version 4.0, it is about my 30th game overall.
tfs99: I know you're being sarcastic, but isn't this a little ridiculous? Four patches and a seemingly simple bug like this can't be worked out? What the hell is going on? Luckily, I think they may have solved the infinite missle bug (keeping my fingers crossed), but I won't be sure of this probably for at least a few more games.
I hope this gets taken care of, because I love this game until one of these large bugs shows up and ruins everything.

I hear ya. Unfortunately IRM bug is still there in some way shape or form. I was hit by a Hive missile built in a base 40 squares away, the very turn it was finished.
I also fiddled with the S.E. and was able to reproduce the IRM twice without really trying that hard.
