1)The designation for an empty or occupied city doesn't always work properly. I have repeatedly seen that after I destroyed the last unit in a city with a needlejet and I moved the plane away (in the same turn) the city switches to "filled mode". 2)Occasionally a city is only displayed partly (you can see the underlying terrain. Perhaps this is related to 1. 3)I noticed that a plane disapeared after an atack (which it won) while it still had movement points. The message of "your plane has crashed of lack of fuel" didn't appear. 4)The message "your empire has swollen beyond 7 bases..." is now and then displayed when I already have a lot more bases and build a new one.I have upgraded to v4 Finally something about the AI I noticed, it switches repeatedly between special projects and planet busters (while I'm not attacking those cities, I'm however at war with that faction). In the end the faction never actually builds a planet buster, because the inefficiency of its production and because I overrun it. If the AI were to succeed at building a planet buster I wouldn't be able to overrun it that easily (sounds like a catch 22, but isn't one). Finally, finally something on "the infiltration of datalinks" option. I think the fact that you can see the computers production and troops goes along way in destroying the mystery of and fear for the computer players. I think that the general population of players would have a harder time at beating the computer player if this was removed from the game. It would also give the illusion of a beter AI, because the human players wouldn't see the sometimes bizar mechanics of the AI.

1) Cities in the "fog of war" are displayed defended, even if they aren't. 4) This message depends on your SE efficiency value. You built the other bases with a higher value which allowed more bases and then switched to a lower value before building the last base. |

Thanks for your reply TheScientist. About 1, I'm not playing with fog of war on. About 4, you could be right, but I'm not sure. |

Carlos, You misunderstand the 'fog of war'Turning the graphic option on merely darkens the shade of squares outside your current range of vision. ( one square from a unit, two squares from a base or a sensor, or a unit with deep radar) All other squares are in 'the fog of war'. That is what your screen tells you is there isn't necessarily the case. It is what was there the last time you had the square in sight. The default display for bases is 'filled'. If you send another unit within a square of that base this turn, you will indeed find it to be empty. |
