Is there anyone, who get answere from FIRAXIS? I had written to webmaster 3 times - and nerver got one kind of answere.
In the forum I postet 2 times, no answere.

The question was: actuality of german site...
(in speciality I would know, who I can get the rest of the german story "journey to centauri" [only 27 of 35 episodes are avaliable])

I sent 5 e-mails named 'My Registration Problem'.
They didn't answer. Then I sent an e-mail named 'SMAC Problem'...
I got an answer. So if you say there's something wrong with their game they'll answer immediately.
Otherwise try sending an e-mail to '[email protected]'. He's the SMAC webmaster.

They won't always answer if you say their game is f***** up. I have sent countless email about my scenario problem and have never gotten an answer. I guess its just whether or not they feel like it.

I had a problem with a hotseat game and posted a rather angry post on the board on the 1st of May. There was an answer within an hour. THe problem wasn't solved of course.
So I posted back within 31 minutes.
The next reply came 5 minutes later.
It said it shouldn't be too hard to fix the problem.
I answered another question from the so called support with a post after eight minutes.
No more post from the "support" by then.
My first reminder of the problem was from the 3rd of May. Answer came within a little more than 3 hours. (Telling me, that they look into it and let me know.)
The next reminder from me was from the 22nd of May. Then 29th of May, after that on the 18th of June and finally on July 11th.
No need to point out, that I haven't heared anything from the "wanna-be support" since May 3rd. So either they are still looking into the problem (yeah, sure....), or they realized that I can't refund the game anymore.

So my best advice with the support is:
Don't buy any more games from this software company, since you are not taken serious with your problems with THEIR product.

Grimrod: support for SMAC is handled by Electronic Arts, the publisher of SMAC, rather than Firaxis on this bulletin board. This board is meant as an informal forum where you get *direct access* to the director of QA from Firaxis. Generally, he has been very good about trying to help as many people as he can. Normally he checks the board every morning at about 8 AM Eastern time and answers the questions he can.

This board suffers from benign neglect (or benefits from it, from another POV). If you want to complain the site, your username or the board having errors, I would save your breath (writing 1,000 e-mails to the webmaster will not help). If you're trying to work through a game problem, though, *generally* you can find an answer, if you're persistent.

MatFis: your question has been asked more than a few times. IIRC, the Italians have complained as well (is that surprising? -- please, no flames).

My NT laptop started to hang when starting SMAC. I contacted EA, and they said (essentially) that I was lucky SMAC lasted as long as it did since NT doesn't have DirectX, and that I 'wore out' my simulated drivers. Basically, they said I was hosed and would never play SMAC again.

There were no posts about my situation in this formum for the last 100 days. In dispair I posted (my first ever). In less than an hour JM posted, having diagnosed the problem. It tried it, and it the worked. Problem solved, and one very happy camper. I was literally depressed for almost a week before I tried here.

Lesson: EA does not necessarily know what they are talking about on technical issues. The game designers do, particularly on 'fatal' (as opposed to 'I don't like this') errors.
