Can anyone get the Echelon Mirrors to work? It seems to me that they do absolutely nothing... A bug or did I miss something?
In multiplayer there are a number of irritating bugs. The design workshop usually goes berzerk and designs all kind of useless units, and the 'Alert'-command (shift-L) does not work. The unit just sits there. Actually it doesn't work too well in singleplayer either. The unit sometimes does the right thing and sometimes it just takes of and chases a friendly unit.
Does ANYTHING of this stand a chance of getting fixed??
Also a suggestion for Firaxis: If haven't already I think you should read a thread in this section called "A buglist. Easy to read."
Pleasepleaseplease, get some of these bugs fixed. This game is great and it would be even better if it worked properly.

Tweed, AFAIK echelon mirror works (I've built a lot of them using SMAC USA ver.1 and with patch 3).
It works raising (+1) energy collected from solar plant into surrounding square (as written into the Datalinks).
More echelon mirror surrounding the same solar field add more energy plus.
An echelon mirror also works as a solar plant but don't give any bonus from another echelon mirror.
So, don't build a field full of e.m. but mix them with solar plants in a "checkers board like" mode. There was a thread with some more detailed schema to work out the best energy bonus, but I've forgot the name.
