I unzipped it to the smac directory and tried to enter an IP game but was told that my version was not up to date. What am i doing wrong?
There are no install instructions in the readme. can anyone help?? :-((

It sounds like either the person you're playing didn't upgrade, or your upgrade didn't complete successfully. Remember to extract v4 into the directory you game is installed in. Also, what version of the game do you have (french/german/spanish)? If so, check the other installation problem thread here (and you posted in). I explained the slight difference between those versions and the english.
