Topic: Making Formers Tree Huggers?

I am a very devote tree hugger in all my games. I find that making all your squares into forests within the city radius can quickly allow any base (except sea bases of course) to be very formidable. I was just wondering if there was a way to make automated formers only make forests to save me time. I have gone to the automated preferences and unchecked everything except planting forests, but they still build farms/solars/mines! Also, since sea squares are crappy, is there any way to autoplant fungus? I mean...they can be better than forests in the late game...and I hate to have to control all those freak'n sea formers...

As far as I am aware, no one has found a way let. It has been on the wish list for quite a while. |

There is a way, but it's pretty brutal. You'll need to hack the alpha.txt file to disable farms/solars/mines. Keep in mind that if you do this, you'll never be able to build these structures at all. This is the only I know of to get your formers to completely plant forest when automated. |

Where do I do that, and what do I do? It's not totally that brutal, all u have to do is make a copy of alpha.txt first. |

okies, I don't have alpha.txt sitting in front of me, so I'm doing this from memory.Somewhere in alpha.txt is a list of terrain enhancements. In that list is the prerequisite technology for these enhancements. Since farms/solar/mines are always available, that prerequisite is set to none. If you set the prerequisite to disable, that will turn off your farms/solars/mines. |
