1a. I heard that u could change the resolution on the units when u play to speed it up...how do u do that?
1b. And I also think I heard that you could have a video card speed up the game, how do u do that too?
2. And I thought you could make a base disappear by making colony pods until the population was depleted. How come the city just holds the colony pod production until the city pop grows?
3. Will anyone answer this post? I would be very happy if someone not only replied but answered a question or two...

1a. There is a directory called 'Alternative Art' on your SMAC CD. The 'low-res' graphics files are in there.
1b. I have a Diamond Viper 330, but from what I've heard, nothing will speed it up.
2. You have to make sure nutrient production = nutrient consumption. Di this by taking workers and converting them to talents until the excess nutrients are either 0 or 1.
3. I answered it and I tried to answer all of your questions.

Thanx for answering #1 and #3, but #2 does not work. I have a captured base with Nutrients at 002-002=+000 and the colony pod just gets stalled even after there are enough mins for it. You know, those red blocks are put on the bottom or the production blocks and that is all...

Demiurge - What difficulty level are you playing at? At the lowest level(s) the base does not disband when a size one base builds a colony pod. At the hiher levels, a dialog box pops up warning you. It presents three options: Don't disband base, 2) zoom to base and 3) disband base ( as near as I can remember, the actual phrases may vary slghtly. Any choice other than -disband delays the production and accumulates the minerals. That is what the red boxes represent.
