I don't know if anybody else has experienced this problem, but my partner and i fail to establish a connection. The modem dials and makes the sound of a connection, but the response I get is error: dropped line, or something to that effect. I tried all the advice on the techsupport document provided, and it didn't work. The only recommendation i didn't try is the host switch, mainly because I don't the number for my 2nd phone line. If anybody has a phone number trace program or knows the solution to this problem, please post on the board. Also, I have a 56K U.S. Robotics Winmodem OEM, and he has a 28.8K Generic Brand Modem.
