I had read this text in the SMAC help file: "Raumlift (in english Spacelift, I think) doubbles your production if building energy transmitter, hydrokulture labor or nessus (Bergwerk). But the production is the same, if I build for example a energy market. Is this a buy or a feature?

This is a Firaxis-known bug. In V1.0 the Space Elevator worked correctly. But: doubled production --> much more eco-damage So Firaxis tried to fix it by changing it to "halves production cost", but they failed and since V2.0 (or V3.0?), it neither halves prod cost nor doubles prod rate.

I read many posts about the Space Elevator not working properly but it seems ok on my computer. When I build a satelite it's as if my city has double the minerals it actually has. Yet there is not increased pollution. I have the UK version, patch3.P.S. Energy banks have nothing to do with Space Elevator. It only affects satelites. |

I think, he meant that the production for the energy market is the same as for satelites, although he has the Space Elevator.I have the German version of SMAC. In V1.0, it worked properly, but now (V3.0), it has no effect. I don't know if it worked in V2.0. |

TheScientist is rigtht with his meaning about energy market and satelites. In version 2.0 (german), the Space Elevator worked correctly. But it dobbles the production and the damage of the world where VERY extremly (production by building energy market: 78, damage of world: 0; building satelite: production 156, damage of world: 43 (!).. ) I think it is a feature, that the Space Elevator not longer doubbles production. |
