Same thing happened to me, and it was the it was the movies. First, go to your MY Computer icon, right click, and hit Properties, then turn your Hardware accelleration to 0. If this doesn't work, then install without the movies, and take the CD out before it gets to the messqage about how the CD must in in if you didn't do a complete install? I know it sucks not to be able to watch the SP movies, but a working game is better than a not working game. If you want better advice, ask a Firaxis tech.

Your machine sounds too new for this to be the problem, but what video resolution can your system handle? I've got a 0x586 with a 640x480 monitor hooked up to it and run into the same problem. |

What can often happen is that the monitor type is selected. You can determine whether this is the case or not by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting properties, then settings. If the resolution slider is locked at 640x480 (and you bought your computer in the last, say, 5 years), this is probably the case. Set your monitor type correctly and you'll almost certainly be able to go to 800x600x8bit.jkm firaxis games |
