1. Installed update 3 this evening. The game has crashed 3 times with a GPF in sound.dll1a. So I thought I'd just do update 2, or maybe even 1, but they're no longer available from the Download section, at least not the English versions. Please keep all previous update versions available. 2. If I've done a complete install, why doesn't SMAC know it and quit hunting for the CD at every startup?

Ok, this is being addressed, so how do I delete the previous message? |

But one more thing:3. Updates should come with an uninstaller to allow users to remove the patch when there are problems with it. |

De-installing a patch is not always possible. It depends on how the patch is installed. If the patch is installed by just copying new files to the existing directory, with all the affected files backed up, then sure. But when the patch is actually applied to actual files (the orginal meaning of a patch, BTW), then it is not possible to undo the changes. |

Of course it is possible. Your installer simply backs up the affected files first, that's an elementary precaution. |
