Topic: what the heck is 'top.top_nav.document'?

Every time I try to log on to AlphaHQ.net, I get the error message 'top.top_nav.document is not an object'. I'm using IE5. Nobody at EA seems to know what's going on. Can anybody tell me how to fix this, is it a file I need to get from somewhere, what the heck is top.top_nav.document??? Maybe I can fix this on my own if I just find it and add it to the right directory???

B.E. Same happens to me. Try using the EA entry. |

That seems to be an object in OOP (object oriented programming) speak. The problem seems to be, somehow, that IE5 (why do you use it anyway?) looks for the object when running JavaScript, but that object does not exist (or is not an object), so IE5 goes haywire. I have no problems using Netscape 4.51.I advise you not to use IE since it has been found to be full of security holes. If you aren't careful, i.e., disable most of the stuff, but esp ActiveX, your computer could get wrecked. |

I downloaded IE5 just to see if it would make AlphaHQ work! I got it *because* Netscape didn't work. And, though I'm loath to admit it, IE5 works faster. IE5 also gives me that little error message about what's going wrong, which I appreciate; Navigator just fails to work sans explanation. |

BE:Hmm, a friend of mine downloaded IE5 and the entire system slowed down to a crawl. It took her a zillion hours to do that too. Sad. |
