Currently playing on huge map of planet, librarian difficulty, v3.0.

Already have the Weather Paradigm but, boreholes give me 2 & 2 instead of 6 & 6.

Mines on rocky areas with roads only give me 2 minerals instead of 3.

Special minerals squares in water give 2 extra food instead of 2 extra minerals.

I have save games to prove this, FRAXIS any ideas?

Mines on rocky areas with roads will give you 4 minerals, but only after you discover Ecological Engineering. Same thing goes for boreholes, assuming these are part of the Borehole Cluster.

You _WILL_ get the bonus for the mine/road when there is a mineral/resource in the square. In fact you will get 7 minerals for mine/road/rocky/resource!

There is a similar tech for getting the extra energy (above 2), but I can't remember what it is offhand.

You cannot get more than 2 of anything from a square until you have the proper technology. That includes nutrients, minerals, and energy.

Click on a city and look at the map. If there is a black halo surrounding an output number, that means you lack something to use that square to full potential. Perhaps a tech or a road (for mines in rocky areas).

ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMICS (B5) is the tech required to remove Energy restrictions.
This one also allows construction of Tree Farms, and allows Formers to raise/lower terrain (if not in possession of the Weather Paradigm, in which case they may do so already.)

So, you're saying that a borehole created thanks to the Weather Paradigm will only get 2 minerals and 2 energy until B5 is discovered? Is this realted to difficulty level maybe? I _know_ that in a previous game I did same thing and the borehole did what it's supposed to do: yield 6 min. /6 energy.

And what about the Self-Aware Colony? It never reduces upkeep costs for me? Comments?

Ok, solved the borehole quandry. In that game I referenced UoP, my pact brother, gave me a few techs I never really looked at carefully. One of them was B5 with the other being, I forget but you need it to go 3+ energy.

Fine, the other bug, is a real one. I've a map where I get 2 food and no minerals from a mineral bonus square at sea. Shouldn't that be 2 minerals?

And the Self-Aware Colony does not alter the upkeep costs of any facilities at any base, a definate bug.

Are you playing the Gaians? If you have sea fungus growing at a mineral bonus square, then all you get is the fugal resouces: fugus takes precedence over everything else, and there's no point building enhancements in fugus squares even if you can with Centauri Psi, since that doesn't do anything.

Definitly sounds like a fungus square. I thought I had a similar problem once where I had a square that had nutrient bonus, but all I got was a yellow 0 with a line through it because it was really a fungus square and I did not have the necessary tech to get anything out of it.
