Jeff,

As you may be aware, I just put together the 16 person SMAC tournament May Madness that is now being played. Unfortunately 6 or 7 out of the first 8 games are flawed. I inadvertently erased the starting tech for all of the factions in my base .SC file from which I composed most of the games. Now all of the players are starting techless. Luckily, the AI factions are also suffering from the same handicap.

I'd like to pass along two suggestions if I may for the next patch. These are technically enhancements, but it would _REALLY_ help setup scenarios.

Have a way to quickly and easily give all of the default starting techs to each faction. Maybe this could be an option off of Ctrl-F8 (Reset Technology)? You could either completely wipe out the tech for each faction or reset it to the defaults for each.

It would also be good if there was some quick way to verify the technology assigned to each faction. That is, press a key or pick a menu item and it checks to see that each faction has the right starting technology. This wouldn't be that important if the first enhancement could be done.
