I have 3 computers setup at home (PII233, PII233, PII333) forming a 100TX workgroup using TCP/IP as the primary protocol and IPX/SPX as the secondary. We are playing a 3-player (v3.0 patched) game and have tried both protocols, with the same end result. Every now and then the messages appear at the top of the screen stating the game is synchronizing. This is fine most of the time, but sometimes this message never goes away (still shows ".....10/10" at the top of all 3 screens). If we continue to play, at least one person will have some/all of the previous turns moves redone on the current turn.

At this point we save the game, quit, restart the game, load from the save, and go on. Usually this solves the problem, but last night the game had the same problem within about 1 hour.


My questions is: What can cause the synch message to not go away? There are only 3 computers on this home network. The network is no where near loaded with traffic. All 3 show the synch at the same point. Any ideas?
