I have the UK version of the game, I downloaded 3+mb of patch, installed it correctly, and game starts fine, till I select a faction leader and when I click on GO it crashes. Terran.EXE crashes in Sound.DLL, I upgraded from retail version to version 3.0, retailed version was 1.0I as it was written in Readme.TXT, game was working fine without patch, please help and I have plenty of space in hard drive.

What's your soundcard? Chances are setting the EAX and DS3D entries in the alpha centauri.ini file will solve the problem.
