I installed original game...runs no probs...am using 133 AMD.
When trying to install patches....either v2 or v3,I get same thing...CPU incorrect. Are the patches backward compatible ?
Mems not an issue nor are viruses.

I haven't heard of CPU incorrect. What's the exact error message and at what point does it occur (when it hits specific file or when you launch the patch)?

V2 runs the entire patch....when finished,I get dialog box which says "Incorrect CPU,game may crash if you run it."
than a yes or no box...for running game.YES makes screen blackout for about 1/2 second thasn kicks back to Windoze Desktop.

V3.0 is less friendly...Patch starts to run...runs for about 3-5 Seconds and Dialog box pops up ..."Incorrect CPU" and Poof...goes back to Windoze.

CPU is 133 AMD,Video is 4 Mb Matrox PCI,64 Megs ram.

I am going to try V2.o again and check New INI file after saving old and compare them.Any suggestions would be helpful.

Well....I re-installed Direct6X....reinstalled sound drivers....etc.Same results.
V2. runs patch till the end...when I attemp to run the game,it loads initial screen....but dialog box pops up saying "cpu not supported.Game may crash."
But game never loads....goes straight to Win desktop.
V3 isnt so friendly...V3 stops dead in its tracks and says "Incorect CPU" and goes to Win.
Its got me puzzled so far.
Like I said...Is a 133 AMD..have 64 megs mem,plenty of HD space....go figure.

Bizarre. There isn't anything in the rtpatch that even checks CPU. Is it the game that asks about the CPU? The patch shouldn't automatically run the game regardless.

Well....am puzzled also. But,will be getting new system soon and the original runs fine as is,so I'll just wait for new system before trying the upgrades.Besides, its a good game anyway and the original game gives me no probs.

Have you trioed wiping the whole game from your disk, and re-installing everything from scratch ?

Wait. Is your system a 486 AMD 133? If so, there are specific pentium (or 586) specific functions that won't work on 80486 cpus.
