Here's my situation.
I am playing the Gaians on Talent level and currently fighting the Hive. I have sent in my horde of mind worms, but something weird is happening. When I attack one of the Hive
units, I only get 1-1 (attack vs defense) before other modifiers. That doesn't make much sense since *I* get penalized for techs that the Hive that still hasn't discovered.
However, when a Hive unit attack one of my worms, not only do I get 1-1 odds, I don't even get my +30% Planet bonus! What's going on here?

Hmmm... and this isn't sea combat? Did you edit the configuration files at all?

I went back and look up the rules and found that the program was right and I was wrong.
Only attackers get the Planet bonus (p.103).
And you are right, mine was an Isle, so it
was 1-1.
This doesn't make sense, though. Why do only
attackers get the Planet bonus, and why only
land units get better odds?
