Author Topic:   Base facilities disapearing, PLEASE HELP!

Sometimes when I discover Secrets of Alpha Centauri I get trancedi but Temple of Planet facility never shows up. I've had this problem with Hologram Theatre as well. I can build the theatre for about 20 turns then it removes itself for the build list and disapears. Someone help me before I go insane! I've read the book twice and find no explanation as to why this happens. Karma

I THINK if you build the Virtual World, you can no longer build the Hologram Theater. I've NEVER been able to build the Temple of the Planet. SoI can't help you there. Any reasons to the no Temple thing happening? Like being able to build it is based on your planet rating or something? I really don't know about this one.

Are you guys building Centauri Preserves first? I don't believe Temples show up until you build Preserves first. Of course if you don't have the need (eco-damage) then save your time and energy and build something else more useful like more military units or colony pods. You probably won't need temples unless you are building "Super" citys (size 60+) which are nasty to the environment.

I think Warp Warrior is right on this one. I've built dozens of temples, cool movie btw.
But then, I'm a lover and a builder, not a fighter and a blighter.

Facilities disappear from the build list once you have a Secret Project that provides them for free. If you are not sure, look at the list of buildings you have, in a base where you built a Theatre. If it has an asterisk by it, it is redundant and can be sold off.
Not being able to build Temples of Planet really threw me as well. From what I have seen, you can only build Temples after someone (hopefully you) has built the Voice of Planet project, as well as after a Centauri Preserve has been built at the base. I find that very annoying, since my size 20 and 30 bases are enough to annoy planet.

You guys are not using patch 3, or something is going very wrong. The Temple of Planet is available after you get the correct tech, but only patch 3 allowed that.
