Whenever I play a multi-player game, be it via direct modem to modem or ALPHAHQ.NET, I get the TERRAN.EXE has caused an invalid page fault at (billions of numbers.)

When I got the game itself, the sound worked fine, but multiplayer games had the same TERRAN.EXE issue.

2.0 patch - NO SOUND AT ALL! Multi-player games work fine!

3.0 patch - Sound works! Multi-player messes up. PLEASE HELP ME!

Nah... The Terrain error occurs in the single player as well... If it wasn't for Norton Utils, I'd be unable to play the game...

The sound problem means you've got an A3D card most likely. Is the crash caused by terran in the sound.dll? If so, what's the card? Also, disabled A3D support by setting the EAX and DS3D entries in the alpha centauri.ini file may help. A final check of whether or not the sound is the problem at all is to rename the sound.dll to sound.dl_.

My sound card is a YAMAHA YMF-724. I disabled all that DS3D and EAX stuff. No, the problem is not in SOUND.DLL, its in TERRAN.exe
