Has anyone else been unable to use Gravship formers to construct 'Road to...' or 'Tube to...'? Whenever I try to use it, I get the error message that says: 'Land units can not perform sea unit commands and visa versa.' Perhaps this is a bug??

Yeah the unable to construct road/tube doesnt work with gravship formers but you can manually do it. By the time I get there the eco damage is so bad I just let everything blow up and just make drop tanks and insert them to the enemys base.

I use "Grav Formers" all the time. The only complaint I have had about them has to do with the "Auto-Improve" function. My Grav-Formers will not "Auto-Improve" water squares.

Yeah... Grav Formers are the way to go... Sometimes they won't leave the base when using an auto-improve...

My favorite maneuver with a Grav-Former is to take it into the deep ocean and build myself an island. Not only does it give you liveable land, it reveals more of those all important Unity Pods as well!

Yeah... I could see how that could be useful... Didn't know they brought up more pods tho.

Love those "Features"... Especially late in the game when you are competing with your "enemies" and need that added "Artifact" boost for a special project or two...

Grav Formers are also nice for getting into a rocky areas and getting a road built on the same turn, or getting to work on leveling terrain for planting forests or building mines without loosing a turn for movement. Also great to move formers between continents without needing ships to move them across or having to build a land bridge to get there (though in my case the land bridge will more than likely get built - to put more cities on it).

I also like the extra pods you get when raising land out of the water. Since I rarely have a navy, I usually will pull up alot of pods when I pull enemy cities out of the water so my land troops can attack.
