First of all, I've been playing SMAC with great pleasure on my Pentium 200 without any problems whatsoever (apart from it being slow). However, my newly acquired computer (pentium 3 450 - 128 Mb ram - 8 Mb Sis Video - Sb16 - 4gb hd, 3gb free) is giving me a terran crash when trying to set up a new game. At the very moment I try to go to the Custom name screen, I get thrown to the desktop with this error msg - TERRAN caused a fault with regard to an invalid page in module SOUND.DLL op015f:1000987d. Registers: EAX=0000029c CS=015f EIP=1000987d EFLGS=00010202 EBX=00000000 SS=0167 ESP=017efe5c EBP=017efe6c ECX=00000000 DS=0167 ESI=00000000 FS=458f EDX=017efe68 ES=0167 EDI=0000014e GS=0000 Bytes in CS:EIP: 8b 46 4c 33 ff 52 8d 55 f8 89 7d fc 89 7d f8 8b Stackdump: 0000014e 00e5f81c 00000046 00000001 017efea4 10024ff5 0000029c 017efea0 00000000 00e5f7ac 00f30920 00000000 00e5f7ac 00000000 00000000 00000000 I am not so happy with this. Does anyone know what's causing this error?
Thanks, Philip
