Author Topic:   screen freezes at Firaxis logo

When I start up the game it shows the firaxis logo and when I wait a while nothing happens and when I push CTRL + ALT + DELETE it says not responding. I have a Pentium 166, 32MB RAM, Win 95, Creative Riva TNT. Please help.

Try setting your hardware acceleration to 0. Right-click on my computer, select properties, then performance, then graphics. Set the slider to 0.

i had this happen to me as well.. but i didn't have to do anything but not touch the keyboard until the movie started... if i would hit a key before then, it would lock up and i would have to restart the computer... so if what u were told above doesn't work, hopefully it should, since they know mnore about this type of stuff than me try that.. maybe all u need is a lil patience

Had the same problem when i installed the game on a school computer for a few hours of fun. The trick I used was to custom install without the movies. I know it sucks, but at least you will get to play the game. If you leave the CD in, and the computer goes to play one, then you'll freeze agin, so take it out after the logo and your CD player stops running, but before the game is loaded.
