Hi all

First of all, i want to thank you already that you are willing to help me.
Well my problem is that it is like impossible to play the game because the system crashes after like 5 minutes... and it is not because i have an unstabile system, this is the only program i have problems with (well i don't play a lot of games). But when it crashes, the entire system is death, nothing helps... only the good old reset button. And i have not a clue what the problem could be... well i have an AWE 64, but i already removed it, and it still crashed, i have a network too, and i removed my network card too... still doesn't help.
but i still use an old Cyrix processor (166 Mhz), but i don't think that this could be the problem.
btw, i'm using win98, directx 6.1, 64 mb ram, harddisk of 13 gigabytes)

so tell me what i can do, i don't care that i don't have sound or anything, i just want to play the game... (and no, i can't upgrade my system yet )

thnx

Is the processor overclocked? We've had extensive problems with non-intel processors over-clocked, including random crashes. I'd also refer to the readme.txt about forcing the old voxel algorithm since that symptom matches yours. Another thing to try is to set the EAX and DS3D settings in the alpha centauri.ini file to 0, especially if you're using v3.0/2.0. If it is a sound issue, renaming the sound.dll to sound.dl_ will disable all sound, without having to yank the card.

I assume there are plans to fix this without having to play a game without any sound...I hope?
