I loaded Alpha Centauri and it worked fine. Then I loaded the V3 update and immediate upon starting the game, this loud buzz plays through my speakers and continues.
I have a Soundblaster 128 soundcard.

Try setting EAX and DS3D to 0 in the alpha centauri.ini file.

Thanks for the response Jeffery.
Actually I uninstalled AC and reloaded it. Then reloaded the patch and it is working ok now. Guess it just didnt install right the first time.
