I have the Asia Pacific edition, I`m trying the US versions of both patches. I keep getting "Old file not found. However a file of the same name was found. No update done since contents do not match." Can someone help? Thanks.

I do not know if this is the case, but a similar msg. appeared for me in updating the US version. I had renamed sound.dll to sound.dl_ [because sound simply will not work] and this halted the patching process. Renaming the file back to sound.dll and then patching worked, after which I had to rename sound.dll to sound.dl_ again. You may not have had to rename sound.dll, but if you did, this is what is holding up the patching.

actually, i also have been unable to install any of the patches, and i am using the us version and have tried all the us patches. i have altered no files, and have reinstalled many times. moving the patch to the smac folders helped nothing, and virus correction yielded nothing. support help was unable to fix the problem, so if anyone has some ideas, it would be much appreciated, as i need to get back into the multiplayer! thx
