In the social engenering screen, I noticed that increasing your science rate doesn't seem to help, and sometimes it makes it worse! This happens even when I am late in the demo and have a lot of energy credits to split between the three. It isn't exactly wonderful when you are making 26 credits/turn, but it takes 30 turns for a tech, and you can't do anything about it. I am usuing v1.0 of the demo (still waiting for that patch, heh) so this may be the cause. I was wondering if anyone has the same problem, or an explination.

I assume you've built the tech-structures, like network node and stuff? Since the techs get more and more 'expensive' to complete, the turns needed can really skyrocket if you find/trade lots of techs early on. I doubt setting science higher will increase the turns needed?
