I have version 2.0. Twice during my current game, the game has crashed when a NeedleJet has attacked a Base. The first time I was the attacker, and the second time I was being attacked. Both times, there were air units present in the defending Bases. I'm now saving after each turn, so if it happens again, I'll hopefully be able to reproduce it at will. For now, I'm just curious if this is a known problem.Incidentally, I'm afraid to upgrade to version 3.0 simply because of all the horror stories I've read here. Before this, the game has never crashed on me so I've been happy to stick with what works until now. In general, my satisfaction with the game is only exceeded by my awe and reverence for the high level of customer support you provide. Keep up the good work! John

Thanks. 3.0 solves a number of problems, including the crash you're describing. The major problem with v3.0 is that on certain soundcards, the game enables EAX support, when in fact those cards don't support it. Most, if not all, of these crashes with v3.0 are solved by simply disabling EAX and DS3D in the alpha centauri.ini file. jkm firaxis games |
