I bought smac in Norway, so I don't know excatly which version it is, all I know is that it's in English. I tried to install both the UK v2.0 patch and also the US v3.0 patch. Both gave me the same error: Couln't find old file, found matching file name bla bla bla. Seems like a lot of people have gotten that same error. Why not fix this once and for all by letting the user make a forced install?

Because the patch doesn't contain all the info, only what's changed. Check the EA technical support help file to see what version you've got, if it's in english. It will say UK if it is, otherwise, it's the US. Apply the correct patch, and if it seizes, try reinstalling the game to get a fresh install. If that still doesn't work, check for viruses, especially if it's stopping on the terran.exe. jkm firaxis games |
