This is probably an old thread..but at the risk of repeating others, I still seek help desperatly. I get a GPF after a few seconds of game play at Terran.exe. I suspect it's related to Kernall32.ddl, but I could be wrong. I have a pentium 2 with mmx, a blackmagic 3dfx card, sbawe64 card, tons of memory and hard drive space..I have loaded in the 3.0 patch..no luck..changed d3sd=o,and eax=o still no luck..changed sound.dll to sound.dl_ and this worked..but there was no sound at all ACK!..changed it back to sound.dll and set my hardware acceleration to it's lowest setting for my awe64 card..sound was stuttery and often repeated but it worked fine. any advice would be great! I love the game and want to play it all the time...
on another note..I loaded the game onto my laptop, an amd-6 300 with a3d and an ess audiocard..upgraded to 3.0 and it worked like a dream! no problems at all! I also have all the correct drivers and directx 6.1

If it's at all possible, try swapping out the AWE card for another sound card. I've been having the exact same problems as you under Enhancement v3.0, and I also have an AWE64.

What's DXDiag.exe think of your drivers? Email me at [email protected] with as much info about what causes the problem as you can, and your complete system specs.
