This started before I downloaded the V.3 patch. What it comes down to, in order to hear any sound, I have to turn the volume all the way up.

The four volume settings in the AC.ini file are at 127. Also, 8bitmoviesound is set to 1. I have all the updated drivers, and so forth.

In my personal opinion, some of the sfx are recorded too low, but you shouldn't have this much trouble. Try setting the volume control panel sliders for wave/directsound to the top, then set the main volume slider to about 3/4 maximum volume. Then use the speaker volume controls for adjustment. Works for me.

Thanks, I just checked the volume controls, and several of the settings had been changed. If I get the same problem, I'll let you know.
