Author Topic:   Cant Install 3.0 Patch

I downloaded the patch from the site, US Version. When i try to run the patch, I get the following error.
"Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match."
I get that right at the beginning, 0% of alpha.txt. I have scanned for viruses several times. Help!

Do a fresh install from the CD to ensure any files that have been modified are restored. Also, remember that US patches only work on the US version. If you still have the problem, download the evaluation version of McAfee from www.mcafee.com.

I have reinstalled several times, and I downloaded AntiViral Toolkit Pro, which I know detects the CIH virus, as ive used it to remove it before. But ill give McAfee a try anyways..

Oh yeah...and it is the US version.

Oh yeah, and just in case the version was wrong or something, i tried a bunch of different patches.
I tried the US V3.0, UK V2.0, and just for the hell of it, the German V2.0. All gave me the same error.
