Just installed the v3.0 patch, and continued a game started under v2.0. Here are the specifics of the problem I encountered:Late in the game, I was exploring some unclaimed unity pods. Using a mind worm unit, I checked out a pod which, it turned out, contained several "barbarian" mind worm units (4, I believe). Still having a move left, my unit killed one of the enemy units, whereupon each of the enemy mind worms gained a morale level. Is this a problem in using a v2.0 file with v3.0? perhaps a specific occurence when exploring unity pods with mind worms? or maybe something else? If anyone else has experienced this problem, please contribute.

It's my understanding that using a Save game from patch 2 isn't recommended after updating to patch 3...I guess it's not suppost to work at all...Hope that helps, hehe.. |

erm, they did that before the patch. i think it's one of the cool things about mindworms. the larger the boil, the more planetpearls you get. also, I am playing a game started before I installed 3.0, and have had no problems. |

X,> my unit killed one of the enemy units, whereupon each of the enemy mind worms gained a morale level < FWIW I've seen this behaviour at both v1 and v2, and I've always assumed that it was deliberate. Since the mindworm boils are actually collections of smaller worms, it seems reasonable that 'killing' a boil doesn't actually kill off every individual small worm, and that some of those transfer to other boils nearby, which increases their lifecycle level. All who responded-- Thanks for the feedback. I hadn't encountered the situation before (at least I don't recall having encountered it), and given the problems with v3.0 I assumed it was a goof. Sorry, Firaxis. |
