"Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match." I bought the game for a week ago, installed it, played three, four times then tried to apply the patch 3.0. Did NOT work. Tried UK version. Did NOT work. Why? And, how do I check the version of the game Iīve purchased? I read the manual and all the papers in the box but canīt find any information about the version. Otherwise - great game. |

Make sure you're using the right patch (US for US). If you've modified any files (like alpha.txt), reinstall the game. Lastly, many virus alter exe files (CIH comes to mind). Download the evalution virus software from www.mcafee.com and do a complete scan. jkm firaxis games |

Thank you for a fast answer! I will make an effort after work today and see if I can get this thing to work. But still... Is there any way to see if my SMAC is US or UK? And the version number. Sincerely Cyb |

Check the EA technical support help file. It will say UK if it is, otherwise it's the US. jkm firaxis games |
