My friend and I can't save in hotseat, even though we highlight the option in preferences.
Also, every time we try and save manually, the game exits, forcing a restart of the game if we save manually. This might be 'smart' for e-mail games, but it's very 'un-smart' for a hotseat game.
Any ideas on how to help this problem?
As it stands now, we're unable to save our progress in the game and it will crash sooner or later while we play, making it for a 'no-win' situation for us while playing.

Perhaps you accidently have ironman on? That makes it so it quits when it saves.

Nope.
I made especially sure to use custom rules while creating the game(s) and NOT having Ironman on. It works fine in single-player for me, but as soon as I try and play hotseat with a friend, saving is no longer an option for us, which kind of limits the fun of the game with our frequent crashes
