Any window that displays units... the little scrollbar at the bottom of the screen, or the big one in the build dialog... scrolls extremely slowly. Very very slowly. Taking an entire SECOND to scroll down on the build menu is insane on a PII-450 with a TNT video card. Does SMAC have problems working properly with the TNT video card, or does it behave like this on all video cards, and if so, for gods sake why? I can't imagine what could take it that long to process... if my computer can render 2d graphics at 60 frames per second, and a full screen 800x600 Quake 2 scene at 40 frames per second, what could possibly be making it take a whole second to scroll down a list of units? Similar (but not as severe) slowdowns occur in the game when units are moving. Raven |
